Statement of Faith

THE SCRIPTURES

We believe the Holy Bible to be Almighty God’s only authoritative and inspired revelation to man, and it is without error.  The Scriptures are relevant in all respects for our teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness.  They are able to instruct us for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.  In all matters of doctrine, worship and conduct the Bible is our authority and guide.

THE GODHEAD

We believe in one God, the Creator and Sustainer of all that is, Who is infinitely perfect and is revealed to man as eternally existing in three Persons:  the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Each divine Person is rightfully called God, and together they are the Godhead as revealed in Scripture.  The Father, Son and Holy Spirit each have the same nature, attributes and perfection, and are each worthy of the same homage and obedience.  The Persons of the Godhead coexist with perfect unity and selfless diversity, showing true relationship.

GOD THE FATHER

We believe in God the Father who blesses those who come to Him by faith with every spiritual blessing.  Jesus Christ is the only begotten of the Father and reveals the Father.  Believers become children of The Father by born-again regeneration.  The Father offers a loving relationship, for which man was created, to all who will receive Him.  As born-again children of God we pray to our Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus Christ and look to our Heavenly Father for blessing and provision, having a desire to please Him in all things.

GOD THE SON

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  We further believe in the sinless life of our Lord, in His miracles, and His substitutionary and redeeming death on the cross as the only way to salvation and eternal life.  We also believe in His bodily resurrection on the third day, His ascension back to heaven where He is presently seated at the right hand of the Father, and in His imminent personal return.  The Son has accomplished all that is necessary for man’s salvation.

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is a divine Person, the Executive of the Godhead on earth.

The Holy Spirit is the Comforter sent by the Lord Jesus Christ, to regenerate, sanctify, guide and teach believers, and to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment.  The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is promised to all believers and empowers them to witness and overcome while in the world. The Baptism does not save but offers a greater fullness of God’s life.

THE CHURCH

The true spiritual Church is built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ.  The Church is made up of all born-gain, regenerated believers.  The Church is the family of God, the body of Christ, the bride of Christ and the Temple of God.    The Church is built up by the ministry of the Holy Spirit and the inspired Bible.  The Church is served by Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors/Elders and Teachers, as recognized by the body of believers.

WATER BAPTISM

Baptism in water by immersion is an act of obedience to God and a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ.  Baptism does not save.  It is a symbol of the believer’s identification with Jesus Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.

THE LORD’S SUPPER

The Lord’s Supper is an act of intimate communion with God.  The Lord’s Supper does not save.  It is a commandment and privilege given to all believers.  The Lord’s Supper is a memorial to Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection.

THE SIN OF MAN

We believe man was created in the image and likeness of God.  However, by willful disobedience, man was separated from God, beginning with Adam and Eve, and thereby incurred death.  Death and the tendency to disobey God has been passed on to all of Adam’s descendants ever since.  All men are sinners in thought, word and deed and earn the wages of death.  Man cannot, then, attain salvation by his own efforts because he cannot undue or cancel past sin.

THE SALVATION OF MAN

We believe in the salvation of man solely through the finished work of Jesus Christ upon the cross.  The gracious gift of salvation may be received by whosoever will believe.  Salvation is being reconciled to God and justified by God with the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ, leading to a life of progressive sanctification whereby we pursue to attain to the likeness of Jesus Christ.
